Neal (725) First race

Loudon, NH

September 2, 2006

Race 1 on Saturday - Penguin Rookie Race. 3 laps, you just have to finish. I am gridded in the back row, inside corner. 15 riders, two waves. I got a decent launch (considering), and ended up passing 3 people into T1. I chewed my way up a bit, but I was being careful not to push TOO hard because finishing was key, even if it was last place. A few of the motards just checked out right quick. There was no catching them as two of them were a second or two quicker than I was. I managed to take 3rd place, though it doesnt actually count for anything. Race 11 on Saturday - 125GP. Decent launch again, and I entered T1 in 3rd to last place (which was okay by me!) First few laps were great (for me), I felt great.. Then all of a sudden, the bike began to choke and cough causing me to ride the clutch out of T2, 3, 6, 10 and 12. Luckily a DNF doesn't count against you as far as rider index goes. Turned out to be the reeds, which cost a grand total of $12 a pair.
