week of the classic

Dalton, MA

June 11, 2007

Well here we are staring at the mid season races, which also happens to be the Loudon Classic. Its been a good year so far for myself, meeting alot of goals already and enjoying this year much more than last (if possible). This is race week and the trailer is loaded up. Neal and I head up Wednesday night for all day race practice on Thursday. I want to get to race pace in practice, then start working on sections of the track again. The key is going to be not forcing it though ... just staying relaxed and doing everything that I have continued to do. Jamie Roberts and I are going to do some joint sessions to hopefully get up to pace. Its easier sometimes to get up to pace when you are with someone who is your equal, or a tad quicker.

Last weekend was a milestone for me. I got into the teens, which is the next level at Loudon. I got to run with the top 5 guys and it was a blast! Best weekend thus far. I secured a 5th in Middleweight Supersport, which got me a trophy! I hit a bunch of 19s and one high 18. I was very pleased with this, as my goal was to run in the 20s and just touch the 19s.

Neal is making his comeback this weekend as well! What a weekend to do it too. The USGPRU is going to be at Loudon for this weekend, which is the national 2-stroke circuit. Should be a great weekend of racing for sure!
