mid season update

August 18, 2006

Well we are now more than 1/2 done with the season, and so far it has been a lot of fun. You didn't hear much about my first Amateur weekend because well, it was awful. I crashed (highsided) twice, and just made for a long day. I finished one race in dead last, and raced 2 seconds off my pace. The results speak for themselves. I moved on.

This past weekend was MUCH better! I had a blast! I switch to Pirelli tires, which work well for my riding style. I didn't see a best lap of 23 again, but I was VERY consistent in the 24s and 25s. All this is detailed in my race report.

I am enjoying the AM class a lot. There are 5 of us taking up the back of the pack right now and had some great racing this weekend. Made for a good time, and met a couple new guys after the race.

I picked up an enclosed trailer before my first AM weekend. Its been a great investment. I am always ready to head up to the track now, no more loading and unloading which in itself is worth the cost of the trailer.

The big news now is that Neal will be racing in the first September event!! He has gotten his RS125, we will be doing a track day on the 29th, then he will take the Penguin Race School on that Friday. We will be forming the RivalX Race Team (look for site soon). This should be an awesome weekend for racing, so if you are not doing anything on 9/2 or 9/3 come on up for the races!

Couple more weeks until we are out there again!
